Usually w/symptoms: If you told your doctor that you are having hair loss or acne/oily skin, or low sex drive, these are common symptoms linked to androgen levels. Androgens include testosterone, dhea, dht. These might be high with hair loss/acne, or low with regard to low sex drive or depression or muscle wasting.

Use = Confirm Dx: If you have enough signs/symptoms relating to a possible testosterone deficiency { ie: http://www.Seekwellness.Com/andropause/adam_quiz.Htm }, then you may have the diagnosis of hypogonadism. Subjective data is one thing, objective data is the key to making a correct diagnosis. Along with your androgen levels, other labs are checked in order to rule out other diseases that mimick the symptoms.
