Antibiotics: First you need to have a swab of your throat so we can determine which antibiotic will work the best. You will then receive an antibiotic that normally works for this type of infection. If it doesn't work we have the swab test and your antibiotics would be changed. I would also recommend that you gargle with warm salt water(1/2tsp per 8 oz. Of water). Also, get plenty of rest.

Unusual: This is not a common cause of sore throat. Staphylococci have been shown to be resident in the back of the throat, but seldom cause pharyngitis. When they do they are treated with antibiotics to which they are sensitive in lab tests. See a doctor and get this taken care of.
