PET SCAN/OTHER SCAN: It depends on what you are looking for.So that reason is left to your physician, and he/she will order which test is suitable for your condition and what they are looking for.

Depends: Pet scans have a specific purpose and are extremely helpful in the evaluation for cancer. It can also be used to look for infection, dementia, heart disease among other things. It all depends on what the doctor is looking for.
