Position change: Pronation opposes supination in the hand - it could be thought of as turning from palms facing forward to palms facing backward. In the foot - it would be the movement of the foot towards flattening of the arch....Or the last position of the foot in sequence prior to pushing off with the toes.

In the feet,: Pronation is seen as a flattening, or lowering of the arch as you bear weight on the foot. The opposite is supination, or the raising of the arch. Both are normal parts of the gait cycle. Pronation occurs from the time your heel contacts the ground until (normally) midstance, when the foot begins to supinate to provide the leverage to propel you forward. Pronation provides shock absorption.
