Promoting immunity: Moms pass brief immunity to newborns but this wears off leaving baby vulnerable to many potentially fatal illnesses.Vaccines are started when baby can begin making protective immune factors & repeated on a schedule to keep the immunity strong. The older toddler or preschool child has a stronger system & boosters will last longer. The schedules reflect timing & frequency to give the best protection.
