Laser resurfacing: For the right patient, ie acne scars, acne under control, light skin, laser resurfacing can work great. It usually takes more than one treatment, and it takes time to see the results, but scar reduction is very significant. There is a wide variety of lasers and skill levels. Good equipment and experience make a big difference, don't shop just for price, you get what you pay for.

Excision: If the scar is deep it evan be excised, which will leave a less noticeable scar. For generalized acne scarring , dermabrasion is an option.

Acne scar: Depends on hypertrophic (exuberant or keloid) or atrophic (ice pick, rolling or box car) and what skin type. Treatments range from topical application of silicone, corticosteroid injection, ablation, resurfacing, central punch, excision, subcision with or without filler or fat grafting etc. The answer is never as simple as you may wish. If it was, no one would ever need to deal with acne scars.
