Unlikely: Human to human causes almost all infection ..Mites are the host so i guess if they survive on your sofa you might be able to get from that source.

Possible: It is possible if a person with a very severe infection sat on the couch, and it was fabric and not cleaned.

Yes: Scabies are mites that crawl but they require human skin to thrive. If they are off the skin for more than 48hrs , they will die.
