How common is it to get leprosy now? are there many people who still have it?

Leprosy: This disease is extremely uncommon in the developed world. The organism that causes it is not easily transmissible. I would avoid interactions with armadillos in this country which is the main reservoir. In the undeveloped world it is more common but still difficult to "catch.".
