PICC Stands for...: Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter. The PICC is a very small IV catheter that is inserted in your arm, that allows Doctors to give you medications into your central circulation. Many times a PICC is used when patients require medium to long-term IV access, or for administration of medications or TPN that can irritate the vein. A PICC line is basically a special IV.
