A member asked:

Does long-term use of caffeine actually hurt cognition?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Hurts cognition: Caffeine becomes less effective the longer you take it. You built up a sleep debt that will overcome the stimulating effect of caffeine. Not getting enough sleep has been shown to impair your memory significantly and recall will be effected. A good nights sleep is important for good health. Caffeine really disrupt sleep quality as well.
