A member asked:

Can men catch pid?

4 doctors weighed in across 2 answers

No, but...: Pid is infectious inflammation of the uterus and the fallopian tubes and possibly the pelvic space above the tubes, but men can certainly catch the causes of pid, which appear in men as inflammation of the urethra due to the gonococcus or chlamydia. Other kinds of sexually transmitted disease can also be caught by both sexes, even though some of them are not associated with pid.

No: PID is a disease exclusive to females. The causative agents, gonorrhea and chlamydia, cause a different disease called urethritis in men which presents with painful urination and thick yellow penile discharge. Hope this helps!
