What does it mean if my baby has bright green vomit?

Bile: Bright green vomit could mean that your baby is vomiting bile, an intestinal secretion. This can sometimes be a sign of serious intestinal obstruction. It can also happen with gastrointestinal infections, when your baby has "nothing left to throw up". Contact your doctor in either case! (oh- first make sure your baby is not vomiting "green" because he/she had green food or drink!).

Bad sign: Call your doctor asap or go to the er if this happens. It can be a sign of intestinal blockage causing green bile to back up into the stomach and out. This is always something that needs investigation and should not be waited on.
