Depends...: Most antidepressants take about 2 weeks or so before you notice the therapeutic effects. However you can experience side effects after the 1st dose.

Wellbutrin: With use of Wellbutrin, appetite, sleep & energy level may begin to normalize in 1 to 2 weeks whereas mood & anhedonia may require up to 4 to 6 weeks for a fuller response.
