Probably not: Tonsillectomy is performed for at least four reasons. Recurrent infections of the tonsils (at least 3-4 a year); severe sleep disorder secondary to gross enlargement of the tonsils, peritonsillar abscess and foul odor to the breath. Although tonsillitis and bronchitis may co-exist, i doubt that removal of the tonsils will alter recurrent bronchial infections.
