A member asked:

What should i do about prior abortion: tell or not tell the doctor?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Open communication: It is important for the patient-doctor relationship to have open communication and honesty. When an obgyn asked about pregnancy history it is for a very good reason. That is the way we (obs) know if you are at higher risk for any conditions, offer different screening exams, etc. Keeping information from your provider may compromise your own care. Have an open discussion. It's all confidential.
