No: Mrsa abscesses can look a little like hives but often contain pus , are painful, can be very large, and usually only a small number are present. Hives usually follow exposure to antibiotics(sometimes the cause is in not known) or certain foods such as strawberries, are usually multiple small raised very itchy spots and tend to be multiple. As always, see your doctor for any serious illness

No: There are a number of reasons to have hives, but staph infection is not one of them. There have been reports of individuals with strep infections who have hive-like rashes. Also, in children, it is fairly common to see hive type reactions associated with viral infections.

Many causes for hive: Hives can be caused by amplitude of causes, one of which is infection, staph or otherwise ise.
