Many: Treatment depends on the cause. Common causes are iron deficiency, lead poisoning, anema of chronic disease, sideroblastic anemia and some thalssemias. Iron replacement, lead removal (chelation), treatment of chronic diseases and blood transfusions can be used accordingly.

Maybe: It all depends upon finding the cause- then treatment can be formulated. How important this is depends upon the severity of the anemia and all of your other medical conditions. There are many potential causes of this from early iron deficiency to drug effects to inflammation hidden or otherwise- you should be seeing a hematologist.
