A member asked:

Is leukocytosis typically very dangerous?

It depends: It depends on the underlying cause of leukocytosis. There are patients with mild reactive leukocytosis (mild infections, drug-induced, etc.) that are not in any danger. There cases of leukocytosis due to either acute or chronic leukemias or other myeloproliferative disorders (meaning excessive bone marrow growth) that can be fatal if not diagnosed and teated in a timely manner.
