Signs of infection: Fever (temperature greater than 100.6 measured with a thermometer) and leukocytosis ( increased white blood cells on a cbc) are both signs of infection.

Maybe: Fever secondary to a bacterial infection can cause an elevation the the white blood cell count (leukocytosis).
