Is it ok to use vicks vapor rub on a premature baby?

I don't advise it : Although a common part of many parents medicine chest, I do not advise the use of vapor rub or similar products on any infant under six months(especially premi's). Any fume or fragrance producing product can lead to excessive internal nasal swelling & congestion of the young infant & increased breathing difficulty. The older infant & child can mouth breathe & bypass this effect.
