Dr. Paul Grutter

6-10 weeks: Most fractures heal in 6-10 weeks. This can be considerably longer for smokers, diabetics and for comminuted fractures or fractures with soft tissue injuries.

Although finger fractures can be structurally healed by 6-10 weeks, the stiffness, swelling, and discomfort can persist for for 6-12 month and sometimes be permanent.
