Diseaes,Injuries/CNS: Hypertonia occurs doe to CNS damage done by injury, or diseases involving the central nervous system, you need to see your doctor or a neurologist to find out the cause in your case.The list is rather long and certain conditions are age related from pediatrics to geriatics.

Many causes: Impossible to know without your medical history, hypertonia (true increased tone) can have a variety of neurologic causes. A thorough medical exam by a neurologist is recommended as a start to figure out why.
