A member asked:

What is the relevant anatomy in a laparoscopic cholecystectomy?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Triangle of Calot: The critical steps involved with gallbladder surgery include identification of the duct that connects the gallbladder(gb) to the bile duct (the cystic duct), clipping it closed; id and clipping the blood supply to the gb, and; separation of the gallbladder from the liver. Of all these maneuvers, the most critical is the first--we call this area the triangle of calot.
