Yes: Usually the symptoms are not recognized until the teens, but it is a genetic disorder. The symptoms may be different in children and it has only been recently that we have begun to be able to recognize the symptoms in children. There are many other emotional and physical disorders which can cause similar symptoms. Find a good child psychiatrist.
