What if my milk never comes?

Got milk?: After labor and delivery, most mom's will have a good milk supply by day 4 or 5. Research shows that having the baby suck at the breast at least 6- 8 times per day, especially on day one and two, causes the mother to produce a better milk supply sooner! it is extremely rare for a mom not to produce "enough milk"! if you are concerned, contact your pediatrician or a lactation consultant right away.

Talk to your doctor: Don't give up on breastfeeding yet! call your doctor to discuss your concern. He/she may recommend a medication to help to increase your milk supply. Or your doctor may recommend a consultation with a lactation specialist who might be able to help you with your feeding difficulties.
