A member asked:

Can rolaids prevent vomiting?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Probably not: Rolaids is an antacid that neutralizes the acid already present in your stomach. It does not alter the volume of gastric acid production, does not alter the rate of gastric emptying, does not affect the emesis center of the brain, and does not alter either esophageal function nor the tone of the lower esophageal sphincter. Vomiting, if recurrent or persistent, deserves medical evaluation.
