What is the difference between genital herpes and oral cold sores?

Primarily location: Herpes simplex virus caises both oral lesions and genital lesions. Type 1 is usually found on the lips or mouth and type 2 in the genital region...But not always, as oral sex can cause either to be transmittedto the other area.
