See doctor...: If you have acute bronchitis, your doctor will determine if it is due to bacteria, which needs antibiotics or virus, where symptoms are treated. If you have chronic bronchitis, a form of COPD usually due to smoking, bronchodilator and steroid inhalers are given and oxygen, if the oxygen level is low. Shortness of breath can be life-threatening so see doctor today if you are short of breath!
