Months: Severe lat epicondylitis or tennis elbow needs to be treated with occasional steroid injections, counterforce bracing and exercise. Sometimes a wrist splint helps. Some doctors have found prp helpful. If all fails and you have tried conservative treatment for 6-12 months than surgery should help.
