See your doctor: This is a problem that necessitates a face-to-face meeting with your doctor. This will allow him/her to examine you, ask specific questions. And possibly order tests to find out what's wrong and what to do to help you.

Variable: Most people are probably baffled by it, others will wince with the imagined pain, others will feel sorry for whomever it is that feels the need to cause themselves pain. Medically, there is a small risk of infection with each injury as well as nerve damage. Talk to your doctor about your impulses and you'll get more clarity about them, he/she may suggest a good counselor.
