A member asked:

I am a teenager that has painful periods.. what can i do?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Pain control vs othr: Naproxen sodium had been used for years for menstrual pain before it became otc as Aleve (naproxen) (& others). Taken a day before expected onset until the end of cycles has been helpful. For pain unresponsive to nsaids the oral contraceptives have been useful. A visit with your pcp & review of all issues should help you come up with a plan.
