No pregnancies: The sole function of the uterus is to house a pregnancy which would no longer be possible. As long as the surgery goes smoothly with no complications, no negative health consequences will occur. On the other hand, removal of the ovaries in premenopausal women results in an early menopause which can have adverse health consequences.
