"burning tongue": The tingling tongue is similar to the common complaint of "burning tongue." this is an inflammatory condition of the tongue that is possibly caused by chemical irritants such as those in hot spices, or thermal irritation from food or drink that was at too high a temperature. Acid reflux can also cause chemical irritation of the tongue.
