THC vs. MDMA: Marijuana is a plant, which is mildly hallucinogenic, and has analgesic qualities, making it both a fairly safe medication and a pleasant experience. MDMA (ecstacy, molly, etc) is a synthetic chemical, derived from amphetamine, is moderately hallucinogenic, and can be pleasurable, but within a fairy narrow therapeutic window. Too much MJ and you will take a nap; too much MDMA and you might die.
