Cause unclear: Why did you have cardiac tamponade? What was done to relive it? (drain, window, or stripping?) why did you get a pacemaker? Where is the pulse generator? Is the pain worse with deep breath or cough? Is the area of pain tender to touch? Do you have fever? Do you have an underlying collagen vascular disease that lead to tamponade? So many questions. You should follow up with your doctor and surgeon.

Multiple: You have a pacemaker in your upper chest wall. The surgery for treating a cardiac tamponade is generally a limited thoracotomy, but can still cause chest wall discomfort. You should talk to your surgeon if you have any concerns.
