Forever: Intra venous immunoglobulins can help control many auto immune diseases. Sometimes remission can be achieved after only a few doses, but sometimes long-term or recurrent intermittent use is needed. Other times ivig may fail to control the disease.

Indefinite: Many experts would recommend indefinite ivig in mmn, as cessation might induce a relapse. On occasion, pts are treated for several months and may enter permanent remission, but this is rather uncommon in my experience. Those who respond well initially will continue stability for years.
