A member asked:

Will levaquin (levofloxacin) interfere with the effectiveness of microgestin birth control pills?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: Any antibiotic if taken at the same time, will be preferentially absorbed over the contraceptive pill. Therefore, if the antibiotic is absolutely necessary, then use a back up method in addition to the pill for safety, and do not take both pills at the same time.
