Why was i given a different antibiotic for c. dificile?

The 1st didn't work: Clostridium difficile can be "difficile" to treat and might not respond to the first round of antibiotics (usually Metronidazole or vancomycin) it some times takes weeks of antibiotics to treat this infection, in fact. Stick with the new antibiotic and good luck!
