Similar muscles: Many of the same muscles that are used in defecation are intimately related to the vagina. Essentially, then roof of the rectum is the floor of the vagina. When the rectum contracts, so does the floor of the vagina which may cause its contents to be expelled. However the nature of the discharge should be evaluated by your gynecologist.
