What is the cause of equine protozoal myelitis?

Equine protozoal mye: A parasite called sarcocystis neurona which live in opossums as hosts, and get transmitted to horses when horses drink water contaminated with opossum's feces. It then affects those horses' brain, hence the name equine protozoal myeloencephalitis.
