Variable: Depends on the cause. Ms-related tm can resolve completely symptomatically (although some neuronal damage persists). Things like devic's disease, spinal vein obstruction, guillain barre are more "iffy". A diagnosis of cause gives your neurologist a much better opportunity to provide you with a prognosis.
