A member asked:

How many men have emotional problems that relate to their mother's negligence?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Many people: Our parents are our templates for relationships. Our experiences of seeing how our parents treat us, our brothers and sisters, and each other becomes part of our understanding of what is "normal" in interpersonal relationships. Children of parents who are significantly neglectful can struggle with relationships with others, lack confidence in exploring new things and may have limited coping skills.
