How do you know if a vp shunt comes out in your stomach?

Not in the stomach: Vp shunts typically are placed in the abdominal, or peritoneal cavity. That can be seen on x-ray or ct scan. It should not be in the stomach or bowel. If it really is in the stomach, the shunt may not work properly, or get infected.
