No -Nonspecific: Called "false positives" when this is the case. Can be in joints (common); prior fractures; benign bony abnormalities. Next step may be mri, plain x-rays or biopsy t better characterize or define cause.

No: Hot spots indicate increased bone metabolism or artifact or urine pooling. Hot spots in the bone can indicate cancer, trauma, arthritis, infection, or altered metabolism (hypermetabolism) from other diseases.
