A member asked:

Hep c and skin outbreaks? is the virus in you skin blood or ooze?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Hep C hard to catch: Hep c is transmitted via blood, or sexual contact - like hiv. It is mostly transmitted amongst IV drug users. Even though you a hep c patient may get skin ulcers - this is usually due to a complication from the disease called cryoglobulinemia- these skin lesions are not contagious, but blood and other bodily fluids are.
