Follow up: You will need to be followed regularly by your doctor. Your doctor will get a blood work including an Alpha feto-protein ( cancer marker for liver cancer) and ultrasound of the liver - periodically to evaluate your liver. This is done more- for one with liver cirrhosis-as the risk for developing liver cancer in liver cirrhosis is more significant than just chronic hep c alone, without cirrhosis.
