A member asked:

How common is it to start feeling neck and arm pain symptoms after having a herniated back disk?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

See below: A disc herniation in the neck will frequently cause pain running into one of the arms sometimes down to the fingers. Not all disc herniations cause pain. A herniation in the lower back will not cause neck or arm pain. Many people who have disc problems in the lower back also have problems in the neck.
