Mainly time: The main thing is just time there are some medications that can decrease pain (i.e., viscous lidocaine) and increase speed of recovery (i.e., steroids). Also, cauterizing the sore can speed healing and decrease pain. Most toothpastes have a detergent called sls (sodium laureth sulfate) that may cause these sores. Get a toothpaste that doesnt have sls, i.e., biotine cancer sore relief.

Manage, not cure: Suffering can be relieved with different products you can. Uyni a store. They all cauterize the would. Can also be done ina medical or dental office. We can now use diode laser treatments to painlessly treat mouth uncers to improve comfort and perhaps allow faster healing.

Prevention: Canker sore or more specifically aphthous ulcer can be prevented by avoiding a common foam detergent found in most toothpastes called sodium laurel sulfate. Switching to biotene or other toothpaste not containing this ingredient can be the cure in preventing this painful condition.

Cold sores: There are a couple of lesions called "canker sores 1) the painful red ulcers in the mouth that stay a couple of weeks and then go away - they are actually multifaceted. One possible factor is vit b deficiency. Another is a reaction to sodium lauryl sulfate (in most tooth paste. 2) canker sores on the outside of the mouth caused by a type of herpes virus - which are contagious. Meds help with pain.
