Time only: There is no cure to get rid of canker sores or aphthous ulcers. There are an autoimmune reaction usually to a trigger like trama, foods or food additives(color), illness , etc. You may need to look for a source. The medication that can be applied to lesions only help with the symptoms. They may numb, reduce inflammation (steroids), or cauterize the ulcer(medicaments or laser). Talk with your dds.

Nothing cures canker: sores or prevents recurrence. There are, however, ways to ease discomfort during the 3-4 days when the sores are painful and also prevent infection. The complete healing usually takes 10-14 days. Canker sores may recur many times each year.
