Not commonly: Breathing could be affected by fibromyalgia in at least 2 ways. The musculosketal pain associated with the disorder can make taking deep breaths painful and thus one might feel short of breath. Also, anxiety symptoms are common with fibromyalgia. These can include shortness of breath.
